Lucy + Elliott
Our story
The abridged version. Ask us at the bar for the director's cut.

Lucy's one late day of 2024.
Once upon a time
We met
We matched on Bumble. Elliott was at Golden Gardens when Lucy's profile came up, and he remembers thinking she was so beautiful. So he asked her to enjoy some ice cream at Molly Moon's on a hot summer day.

First date
Our first date was at Molly Moon's. Elliott picked it because the whole shop is nut free, and he has a nut allergy! We were both running late, which is unusual for Elliott and nearly unheard of for Lucy. He was finishing a workout. She needed car trouble and traffic at the same time to pull it off. Afterward we went for a walk, and at the end Elliott bumped phones to swap numbers. iOS gave him her email address and nothing else. He panicked and messaged her on Bumble to ask for her number. She already had his.

Four reminders
Right after the first date, Lucy left to travel, festival included. Elliott was not about to let this one slip, so her return went in his calendar with four separate reminders. The second date ended with our first kiss on a tiny beach on Lake Union that we still call Goose Beach. Molly Moon's later got promoted to the place Elliott first said "I love you." Salted caramel has been through a lot with us.

Later
The mountains got involved
Lucy grew up in Calgary, so the Rockies were hers first. Somewhere between Peru, Turkey, and Tanzania, we figured out we're happiest somewhere beautiful, a little adventurous, and ideally near a hot spring. We've been to Banff together plenty of times, summer and winter, and we love skiing and snowboarding there. It checks every box, and it's close enough for Lucy's people and scenic enough to make Elliott's people forgive the flight.

The question
Elliott took Lucy out on a little electric boat on Lake Union. Partway through his speech, he told her to look at Penny, our chiweenie, whose custom collar read "Will you marry Elliott?" Technically the dog proposed. Lucy said yes immediately, which was a relief for everyone, especially Penny. Our friends Mia and Spencer snuck the photos, and then surprised us with a party full of the people we love.
